Fresh and sweet waters

Purely summer walk since the entire route, round trip, will be next to the fresh stream that descends from the hamlet of S.Angelo, where it is possible to visit an ancient mill that is still open. The walk also includes the Kneipp path, in which, barefoot in the stream, you can experience the different sensations that different types of materials create under our feet. The route is completed by a Roman bridge that appears almost by chance and numerous waterfalls as a backdrop.

North of the Sibillini among clear waters

Beautiful excursion within one of the most uncontaminated places of the Sibillini Mountains National Park whose path crosses the steep walls of the Val di Fibba and Pietralalata mountains, skirting the fresh waters of the Rio Sacro between small ravines and superb views. This is the kingdom where the two symbolic animals of the Park are present: the golden eagle and the wolf.

Trekking with donkeys (or without) on the borders of the Sibillini National Park

Pleasant excursion along an easy path into the woods on the edge of the protected area of the P.N. of the Sibillini Mountains. The route will allow us to reach the centuries-old Nottoria oak, considered one of the longest-lived monumental trees in Italy due to the size and width of its foliage. From here we will continue to make the ring around Monte Mutaro and quickly return to Paganelli di Norcia, our starting point.

The charm of history

The history of Carpello, which is known precisely, takes us to the year 1216 when Saint Clare of Assisi came to this place and purchased a small piece of land near the Carpello spring. Here he built the first monastery of the Poor Clares of Foligno.

In 1849 the Pope, after having tasted the oil coming from these areas, wanted to promote the deforestation of the area above Carpello to plant tens of thousands of olive trees, which still exist today.

As it was

The beautiful majesty

The name of the farmhouse pays homage to a sacred aedicule, the “Maestà Bella“, so called due to the elegance and refinement of the fresco incorporated inside an aedicule attributable to the second half from 1400, which is located in the small village of Carpello, painted by the Foligno painter Pierantonio Mesastris, of which an inscription with an autograph signature is still visible.
